Ethereum Price Forecast: ETH Reclaims $2,395 Support but Faces Inflationary Pressure from Unichain's Launch
Ethereum (ETH) has recently regained support at $2,395, signaling potential for upward movement, especially if it crosses its 100-day Simple Moving Average (SMA). Despite this recovery, the network faces inflationary challenges exacerbated by the growing adoption of Unichain. Ethereum's inflation rate has increased to a two-year high of 0.74%, mainly due to reduced on-chain activity and slowed gas fee burns.
The rise of Unichain, offering scalability and lower transaction costs, could divert some demand away from Ethereum. Although Layer 2 protocols like Unichain enable cheaper and faster transactions, they may reduce Ethereum's on-chain transaction volume, further pressuring its deflationary mechanism.
If ETH remains above the $2,395 support and demand for Layer 1 transactions grows, it could rise to $2,595. However, continued inflation risks could create short-term price volatility, especially as Unichain and similar networks expand.
The launch of Unichain, a Layer 2 solution designed to enhance scalability and lower fees, represents a key challenge for Ethereum. Unichain may lead to reduced transaction volumes on Ethereum’s Layer 1, which could affect its gas fee burn rate and slow down the deflationary effects from Ethereum’s recent upgrades, such as EIP-1559. This reduction in Ethereum’s burn rate increases its circulating supply, thus contributing to inflation.
Ethereum’s price, however, remains resilient due to its established dominance in decentralized finance (DeFi), non-fungible tokens (NFTs), and smart contracts. The ongoing challenge will be maintaining this dominance while managing inflation and the shift in market share to emerging Layer 2 solutions.
For Ethereum to regain bullish momentum, it needs to surpass key resistance levels, with the next target at $2,595. If Ethereum fails to maintain the $2,395 support, it could face increased selling pressure. In the short term, market conditions, macroeconomic factors, and Ethereum’s capacity to handle competition from scalable Layer 2 solutions will be pivotal in determining its price trajectory.
